The Blasket Islands

In July 2011 a group of friends and I went to the stay on the The Great Blasket Island. The Blasket Islands are a group of six islands off the coast of Dunquin, Co. Kerry which were inhabited by a completely Irish speaking population until 1953. Nowadays, from spring to autumn, a ferry operates for people wishing to visit the main island and explore the ruined houses and enjoy the amazing view of the mainland from the island itself. It's a spectacular island and possibly one of the most beautiful islands off the Irish coast. 

Cork Docks, Ireland

The docks in Cork is a very interesting place, not only for it's long history but also it's present. The docks in Cork have lost much of the hustle and bustle that once used to surround the area but they still trudge along but now reaching the retirement age of it's life. The Docklands in Cork have had many proposals for redevelopment but most of these have been shelved due to the time we live in. Here are some photos of the area before, if ever, it gets redeveloped.

Diana Mini Redscale

These were taken in beautiful Dingle in the west of Ireland. Inch Strand is a gorgeous wide open flat beach were most of these shots were taken. The camera used is the Diana Mini which takes shots in half frame or square format. Film used is the Lomography Redscale.

Wedding

I took these photos at a friend's sister's wedding. They wanted a photographer who wasn't too intrusive and took the relaxed and more candid shots of the wedding and before and after the ceremony. They just wanted a few posed shots with the family. It was a very enjoyable day.

A Redscale Morning

I've always loved redscale film and Lomography have made this new Redscale XR that I said I'd try out. I love the golden hues that you can get from the film, its delicious! I took these shots on an early foggy morning around the Lough in Cork. There's some blemishes in the shots but that's the beauty of film, you never know what you're going to get.
