Grainy Glory

Here's a few grainy shots from my analogue cameras. Taken using the LC-A and Diana Mini. The grain gives a great retro look of the mid 20th Century to the photos.

Berlin Lomography

Berlin is one of my most favourite cities, I've been there many times, it's steeped in history and has a special alternative cool side to it aswell. I took these shots while interrailing around Europe 2 years ago but only recently developed the film. Taken with Lomo LC-A on Lomography X-Pro 200 film.

La Sardina - Brighton

Taken in a short stay in Brighton at the start of the British summer weather, shame it's didn't continue...

Taken with Lomo La Sardina camera on Lomography X-Pro 200 film. The grain gives a real old fashioned look to the photos. 

Diana Mini Redscale

These were taken in beautiful Dingle in the west of Ireland. Inch Strand is a gorgeous wide open flat beach were most of these shots were taken. The camera used is the Diana Mini which takes shots in half frame or square format. Film used is the Lomography Redscale.

Fun Diana Mini

The Diana Mini is a tiny beaut of a camera. It takes either half-frame or a square photo on a 35mm film.
This is just a quick fun selection of shots from my recent trip to Berlin.

A Redscale Morning

I've always loved redscale film and Lomography have made this new Redscale XR that I said I'd try out. I love the golden hues that you can get from the film, its delicious! I took these shots on an early foggy morning around the Lough in Cork. There's some blemishes in the shots but that's the beauty of film, you never know what you're going to get. 

Fisheye Selection

Here are just a few more Lomo Fisheye shots that I have. They are all multiple exposure shots with mainly the Colorsplash Flash. The analogue fisheye is just so much fun to use as you never know what you're going to get and there's always a few nice surprises.

Black and White Portraits

These are some black & white prints that I made last year. What I really like about analogue photography is the rawness of is. There's little idiosyncrasies with each photo, the odd blemish or scratch, no manipulation to achieve "perfection". It's real, tactile and I love it.

The first picture is my favourite. These are my two cousins and I love the plain almost emotionlessness about them. It's like a picture from decades ago. The other portraits are less posed and I hope they give off an impression of what the people were like at the time. The last one is a similar recreation of a colour photo I took of my cousin in the same spot some years earlier. I thought it would be nice to see the changes.
