Berlin Lomography

Berlin is one of my most favourite cities, I've been there many times, it's steeped in history and has a special alternative cool side to it aswell. I took these shots while interrailing around Europe 2 years ago but only recently developed the film. Taken with Lomo LC-A on Lomography X-Pro 200 film.

Fun Diana Mini

The Diana Mini is a tiny beaut of a camera. It takes either half-frame or a square photo on a 35mm film.
This is just a quick fun selection of shots from my recent trip to Berlin.

Oberwaldhaus

Oberwaldhaus is the really beautiful lake surrounded by woods in the Darmstadt countryside in Germany. I took these shots as autumn was approaching and the leaves were turning magnificent colours. It was rather beautiful.

Water Basement

This was some strange flooded basement installation that was in Darmstadt, Germany. I can't remember exactly what the story was with it but I was very unusual and calming, you just walked around with your wellingtons on. I rather enjoyed it.

New Years Celebrations

It's coming up to that time of year when you being to think about christmas and new year celebrations. Two years ago I was lucky enough to celebrate new years in Darmstadt, Germany. In Germany it is legal to sell fireworks for a few days coming up to the 31st. Everyone buys them and us not used to this kind of thing bought loads of them. As I lived in a student apartment block we all headed to the roof to get a full view of the city with fireworks exploding everywhere. It was amazing, so much fun and by far the best new years yet. This year I hopefully will be in Berlin so fingers crossed it'll be just as good as Darmstadt.

Thanksgiving

Seeing as it is Thanksgiving in America today I thought it would be appropriate to put up my photos of my experience of Thanksgiving in Germany two years ago. While studying in Darmstadt a lot of international erasmus students were staying in the student apartments in Karlshof. Seeing as there was three Americans staying there too they decided to have thanksgiving. Everyone of the international students brought some dish to the party, preferably something native to their country. Frank the American was the driving force behind the whole thing. Given that Thanksgiving isn't a festival celebrated in Germany, no turkey could be found. A goose was the only thing he could find but as he (and his Spanish helper) had never cooked goose before, it kinda collapsed and ended in a mess. But fun was had never the less and I'm sure for Frank and the other Americans it was a Thanksgiving that they will always remember.
